    Asmad Putra Abdul Samad:
    Expert in Corporate Reporting and Brand Management

    Asmad Putra Abdul Samad, a graduate of Olin School of Business, has carved a niche in strategic communications and brand management. His career, spanning from the Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers to leading roles in MISC Berhad and Sime Darby Berhad, showcases his expertise in shaping communication strategies, brand storytelling, and effective engagement with diverse stakeholders.

    Asmad obtained his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BScBA) from the prestigious Olin School of Business, Washington University in St Louis, Missouri, USA. He started his career in the Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers (FMM) before advancing into the corporate world.
    He assumed the role of Manager, Internal & External Communications at Malaysia’s largest shipping company, MISC Berhad, before joining Sime Darby Berhad’s Corporate Communications team as Senior Manager for the External Communications unit. He was then appointed as the Head of Brand Management at Sime Darby Plantation Berhad, the largest producer of certified sustainable palm oil in the world.

    Asmad is instrumental in crafting effective work strategies and has a hands-on approach in assisting companies as a mediator in their engagements with the government, communities, industries, NGOs, and media practitioners in foregrounding key issues. Asmad often conducts research and analyses to understand communication issues and challenges and uses his findings to streamline the messaging and brand storytelling across the board. He spearheaded the rebranding exercise for two prominent conglomerates- Negara Properties and Pantai Hospital (now known as IHH Healthcare).

    Asmad enjoys the creative thinking phase and the onward development process, especially in tactical problem-solving. Always up for new challenges, Asmad believes in proactive and continuous reinforcement toward achieving a winning mindset. Asmad also expanded his forte into brand management and brand storytelling over the years, becoming a communication subject matter expert.
